Lotus, a British sports and racing car manufacturer has launched the new stunning Lotus C-01.
With styling and paintwork that immediately identify the heritage of the brand, translating it successfully from four-wheels to two-wheels.coming years.
Just by looking at it, thoughts of the 2010 Tron movie may come to mind, and you won’t be at fault.
The lead designer of the project is none other than Daniel Simon, a former designer for Bugatti Automobiles, has recently created some of the most sophisticated concept vehicles in Hollywood film history.
Amongst his most recognizable creations are the ‘Lightcycles’ in the 2010 Disney motion picture ‘Tron: Legacy’ and the ‘Bubbleship’ used by Tom Cruise in the recent Universal sci-fi hit Oblivion.
The C-01 combines ample power via a V-twin engine with a distinctive body designed by Daniel Simon integrating carbon fiber, titanium and aerospace quality steel.
As expected, power comes in at 200 horsepower, courtesy of a modified version of KTM’s 1,195-cc V-twin engine.
The chassis is made up of steel, titanium and carbon fiber, with a seat height of about 28 inches.
Its wheelbase, at about 65 inches, is a full 10 inches longer than a real street-legal super-bike, and its front end is raked way out in front with a 19-inch wheel.
This new Lotus C-01 isn’t just a concept, Lotus plans to make and sell 100 of these for around $140,000.
